BORDEAUX-MP

Bordeaux-MP has been superseded by Bordeaux-Threads. The new library is very similar except that the nomenclature has been changed from "process" to "thread" because ''process'' is a very heavily overloaded term, and the atomic operations have been removed because they implied a level of isolation that didn't exist.

The rest of this page is obsolete.

BORDEAUX-MP is a work-in-progress proposed standard for multiprocessing in CL. See http://common-lisp.net/mailman/listinfo/threads-standard-discuss for details.

The current text of the proposed standard can be viewed in telent CVS.

I (Greg Pfeil) have put together an implementation of this Library. Right now it supports Allegro, CMUCL, ECL, OpenMCL and SBCL fairly well. It has a project on cl.net

I suppose this belongs under Compatibility Layers.
